Changetober: Small Change, Big Impact

Welcome to Changetober—a 30-day community campaign dedicated to raising $15,000 to purchase and install a new HVAC unit for the Phyliss R. Ewell Resource & Recreation Center in Duquesne, PA.

Every coin dropped into a donation box, every dollar given online, brings us closer to ensuring that our center is a safe, comfortable, and welcoming space for families, seniors, and youth.

About the Phyliss R. Ewell Resource & Recreation Center

The Phyliss R. Ewell Resource & Recreation Center is more than just a building—it is a living legacy. Named in honor of Phyliss R. Ewell, a mother, mentor, and community servant whose life’s work was dedicated to lifting others, the center continues her vision by serving as a hub for hope and restoration.

Owned and facilitated by Divine Restoration Outreach Ministries, the center stands in the heart of Duquesne, PA, and provides:

Food Pantry & Distributions – Serving hundreds of families every month.

 Senior Support Programs – Building community and reducing isolation for older adults.

Youth Recreation & Sports – Offering safe spaces for children and teens to play, learn, and grow.

Community Meals & Fellowship – Bringing people together around the table.

Since its Divine Restoration Outreach Ministries,  and its programs have touched over 23,000 lives through distributions and services—evidence of the powerful impact when a community comes together in love and service.

Why HVAC Matters Now

As our programs continue to grow, so does the need for a safe and climate-controlled environment. Families should not have to gather in freezing cold or stifling heat to receive food, seniors deserve comfort during fellowship, and children need a healthy environment for recreation.
